Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the two companies are teaming up to launch a special-edition version of the iconic Mulberry Roxanne Bag.

The tote is part of Gap’s ongoing (PRODUCT)RED collection, which benefits the Global Fund, a charity that helps fight AIDS in Africa by providing life-extending anti-retroviral drugs to women and children affected by the virus.

Bags are going for $175, and would be sold at Gap store on 5th Avenue NYC, from the 6th of February. 50% of profits will be going straight to the charity.

According to legend, this classic cocktail was first served at Harry's New York Bar in Paris in 1931.

The Ingredients: Makes one drink

1½ oz. brandy or cognac
1 oz. Cointreau or Triple Sec
2 tbsp. lemon juice
Lemon wedge or twist

Wet the rim of a martini glass and dip it in sugar. Combine the brandy, Cointreau and lemon juice with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into glass. Garnish with lemon.

Support CatWalk the World - Fashion for Food

Congratulations to 'CatWalk the World' who won an award in Paris at the 21st annual World Quality Commitment Awards in the Humanitarian Category. An international campaign created by Mr Femi Amure (United Nations World Food Programme), Mr Matthew Mensah (CEO of CatWALK the World) and Mr Obaro Ibru (Chairman of CatWALK the World), with a mission to raise Funds and Awareness for Stop Child Hunger through high profile fashion shows around the world with the biggest and most respected designers and entertainment artists.


The team was recently in London to participate in the Kulture2Couture show in the grand Victoria & Albert Museum. The workshops held across two days, explaining 'how the global fascination in fashion and design can be harnessed to raise awareness and funds for the humanitarian initiatives aimed at alleviating hunger' were inspirational and very well received.

Hot Event - Shemelis Desta's Ethiopian Archive 13 Sep-11 Nov 2007

From Emperor to Military Dictator: Shemelis Desta's Ethiopian Archive (1963-1982) at The Photographer's Gallery. (FREE EXHIBITION)

From the early 60’s until deposition Desta was Haile Selassie’s, Emperor of Ethiopia 1930 – 1974, official court photographer. During this time he took photographs of State leaders, including a youthful Queen Elizabeth II, paying their respects. Following the infamous 1974 military coup and subsequent deposition of the Emperor, Desta continued to record government activity under the rule of the military dictator, Mengistu Haile Mariam. Desta captured the colourful pageantry of state military processions as well as a state visit from Fidel Castro.

This exhibition celebrates the discovery of a monumental archive whilst telling the story of two amazing eras from a country renowned for its rich culture, tradition and history.

It is that time of the year, time to look back and reflect on our history, time to see what what we can learn from our history, and most certainly time to appreciate the journey that has brought us to where we are today and perhaps reflect on the future. BLACK HISTORY MONTH. Please see below for a list of events lined up to broaden our knowledge, entertain and inspire us...

1) Starlight Cinema: Celebrating Sidney Poitier Every Wednesday throughout Black History Month (FREE) Celebrate London Borough of Tower Hamlets Black History Month with the finest films of Sidney Poitier. One of Hollywood's most beloved and talented actors, Poitier's prolific career includes groundbreaking performances and politically charged roles. Admire his critically acclaimed performance as the handsome suitor in "Guess who's Coming to Dinner?" or as Virgil Tibbs, police detective, in "In the Heat of the Night. " Every Wednesday in October will offer the opportunity to relax under the stars in the East Wintergarden and enjoy a meal and a movie. 2) African Film Festival, 11 October 2007 to 14 October 2007

4) Film screening: `Guilty or Innocent of Using the N Word', Wednesday 17 October 2007 (FREE)This award winning documentary explores questions and issues around the derogatory 'N' word. It breaks down the word chronologically from its first use in history up to Hip-Hop's influence on its acceptance and commercialisation. 5) Black Music: the Mission and the Message – Free concerts at City Hall

6) Emergence-See! 7) Winners 2... The Rise & Rise of Black British Entrepreneurs 30 Oct:The British Library on Oct 30, will mark Black History Month by hosting a celebration of the contribution of Black British ENtrepreneurs in the UK today. Guest speakers will include: Kanya King, founder of the MOBO awards; Levi Roots, singer and creator of Reggae Reggae Sauce; Dutton Adebayo journalist and founder of The XPress 'best-selling' book publishers; and Sam Gyimah, serial entrepreneur and former winner of the CBI Real Business Entrepreneur of the Future award.
